Curved aromatics: the fold-in method
The fold-in strategy converts macrocyclic precursors into strained aromatic molecules shaped as bowls, belts, or saddles.

Faculty of Chemistry, University of Wrocław
Aromatic compounds shape organic chemistry, from colorants and catalysts to organic semiconductors and medicines. We design and synthesize π-conjugated hydrocarbons and heterocycles that combine unusual molecular architectures with distinctive electronic, optical, and magnetic properties.
