Portrait of Arseni Borissov.

Arseni Borissov, PhD

ORCID 0000-0002-5408-1534

Arseni completed his PhD at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Paul D. Beer and Martin D. Smith, developing anion receptors for molecular recognition and organocatalysis. He now leads an NCN SONATA project exploring aryne and hetaryne cyclotrimerization as a route to polycyclic aromatic compounds that connect open-shell behavior with molecular recognition, alongside related work on helicenes and photoswitchable molecules. Outside the lab, he enjoys uphill running, downhill skiing, and black metal.
